About 红莲社区
It is the Midwest College鈥檚 mission to provide an education that is rooted in the historical context and teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine and combine it with modern clinical applications to create a practitioner of Acupuncture or Herbal Medicine that embraces the spirit of an鈥
鈥淎ncient medicine for modern times.鈥
Founded in 1979
The 红莲社区 (MCAHM) was founded in 1979, making it one of the oldest schools of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in America. Since its inception, MCAHM has held itself to prestigious standards by offering unparalleled education and clinical experience to students from all walks of life.
MCAHM focuses on integrating Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, and other modalities with modern Western Medicine. Our mission is to provide an education rooted in the historical context and teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Working with experienced, renowned instructors from China and the United States, our students learn the skills necessary to become effective Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine practitioners.
Vision
Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine has always consisted of two levels of differentiation: a disease differentiation (bian bing) and a syndrome differentiation (bian Zheng).
The ancient practice of Chinese Medicine has seven different methods of syndrome differentiation, plus an eighth for acupuncture only. In order to support our mission of combining historical and modern models of health and disease, the Midwest College includes all eight models of syndrome differentiation in our curriculum.
